This is brilliant! There are more bugs and bacteria living in and on our body than there are body cells! Microscopic relatives of spiders (Demodex – in the photo above) creep across our faces at night, going from one hair pore to another, to lay their eggs. Mites in our eye lashes and lice eat our dead skin. Bacteria digest our food for us. Most of these ‘bugs’ do no harm at all. Indeed they do good! Mutualism at work.
