THE LIGHT INDEPENDENT REACTIONS
LIMITING FACTORS IN PHOTOSYNTHESIS
MEASURING THE RATE OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS
This is a standard lab for IB. Usually Canadian pondweed (Elodea sp) is used and the bubble of oxygen counted as they are given off, or collected. The rate of bubbling changes according to the environmental conditions. The trouble is – Elodea is not easily available and anyway, the lab often does not generate viable results. So …..
THE FLOATING LEAF ASSAY METHOD FOR MEASURING THE RATE OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS
This is a fun little investigation and should produce nice results. The lab can be done with very simple equipment, if necessary.
